Byte Dancer
A pink-and-red neon boss that fights in rhythm: spirals, sweeping arcs, hexagons and boomerang volleys. It is the fifth of the nine bosses.

The fight
Byte Dancer is built from glowing pink and red shapes with a ring and an equaliser display, and its attacks leave matching neon trails behind them. Its shots come in patterns that reward moving with the rhythm rather than reacting to single bullets.
Attacks
- a spiral of shots combined with a sweep;
- a sweeping arc across the screen, and a split arc that opens a gap;
- a cluster of hexagons that arrives together with a sweep;
- boomerang volleys, where large boomerangs go out and curve back, followed straight away by smaller ones.
Tips
With the boomerangs, dodge the large ones first and then the smaller ones that follow. Each volley is symmetrical, so once you spot the pattern it is easy to find the way through.
