The bosses
Nine AI overlords stand between you and the end of a run. They arrive in a fixed order, one after every few waves, and then the cycle repeats with tougher versions.
- OGPTThe first boss: a black-and-white machine built around one large eye, with a drone phase before you can hurt it.
- Eyes of GeminessaA pair of rainbow-edged eyes that fight together, sharing a single health bar.
- ClaudusAn orange-cored machine with a shield, a flood of code, and bots that make it untouchable while they live.
- GrokklerA neon-blue boss with one large eye that fights with bolts, lightning and ricochets.
- Byte DancerA pink-and-red neon boss that fights in rhythm: spirals, sweeping arcs, hexagons and boomerang volleys.
- Alexus PrimeA delivery-themed boss with a shield, throwing boxes and storms of letters.
- ReplicatorAn orange machine that copies itself and its shots, with walls, clones and mirrored lanes.
- CopilotronA blue-ringed machine that fights with a swarm of its own drones and a mix of shot patterns, behind a shield.
- Face of MetamindThe last boss: a huge face with two eyes, a nose and a mouth of gems, each part with its own health.
Mini bosses
Some waves are led by a mini boss instead of a plain formation. They have their own rules and appear in among the ordinary waves.
- The Gecko King is a space gecko that sleeps behind a formation of gecko astronauts. Giant coin bubbles have to be burst before it wakes and can be hurt, and once it is awake it launches lizards that fly in and fire at you.
- The Bot Machine King sits above bundles of small hexagonal drones. Walls of tiles guard some of them, so the walls and their emitters have to come down before the drones behind them can be hurt.
How a boss fight works
Every boss fight has a first phase and an attack phase. In the first phase you clear its drones or break its defences while avoiding its fire; in the attack phase the boss is open to damage and uses its whole set of attacks. Your upgrades carry through, so what you bought on the way decides how fast you can end it.
